Car will not start: what now?

If the car will not start, do not keep trying over and over. Notice what you hear and see: is there only a click, does the starter turn without the engine firing, are warning lights on. Tell us on the phone or on WhatsApp. It helps us judge what is needed. If it cannot be sorted on the spot, we load the car and take it to the garage of your choice.

Car will not roll or is stuck

A car that will not roll, for example because of a seized handbrake, a locked wheel or a gearbox that will not go into neutral, can still be moved. We winch the car carefully onto the flatbed or trailer. Tell us beforehand which wheels still turn and whether you can steer. If the car is in a multi-storey car park, give us the level and the height limit, and you hear straight away whether it can be done.

Having your car towed to a garage

When you have your car towed to a garage, you choose which one: your usual garage, the dealer or a specialist further away. If you can, let the garage know the car is coming. If the garage is closed, for example in the evening or at the weekend, we take the car to your home or another address. You can arrange the trip from your home to the garage with us later too.

Moving an accident-damaged car to a body shop

After an accident you will often want the car taken to a body shop. Before we load it, take photos of the damage and of the scene; your insurer will find them useful. We carry the damaged car on a flatbed or trailer, even if a wheel or the steering is damaged. If the car is already at a recovery yard or garage, we collect it from there.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about: moving a broken-down car

Straight answers. Question not listed? Call +31 6 14 68 70 30.

Can you collect a car from a private driveway?

Usually, yes. Tell us how wide the driveway is, whether there is a slope and whether the street in front is accessible. A photo on WhatsApp helps. You then hear straight away whether it can be done and what it costs.

Does the key need to be with the car?

Ideally yes, because with the key we can release the steering lock and put the car in neutral. If you cannot be there yourself, arrange where we can pick up the key or who we hand it to.

My car is already at a garage. Can you take it to a different one?

Yes. We collect the car from the garage where it is now and take it to the garage, dealer or body shop you choose. Give us both addresses and let the first garage know we are coming.

What if the car is leaking or smoking?

If there is smoke or fire, call 112 first and keep your distance from the car. If it is leaking oil or coolant, tell us. We take that into account when we load and transport it.
