Scrap car collection: how it works
First choose a scrapyard or dismantler and agree with them that the car is coming. Then call or message us with the address where the car is, the scrapyard's address and the state of the car. You hear a fixed price straight away. We collect the car, even if it will not start or roll, load it onto a flatbed or trailer and deliver it to the company you chose.
Deregistration: the scrapyard handles it
We transport the car; we do not handle the deregistration with the RDW, the Dutch vehicle authority. You arrange that with the scrapyard you choose. A dismantler recognised by the RDW can deregister the car for you, after which you receive a vrijwaringsbewijs, the proof that you are no longer liable for it. Ask the scrapyard beforehand what they need from you, usually the registration card and its code. Keep the proof safe.
Having a car taken away: what to do yourself
Before we arrive, take your belongings out of the car: the glovebox, the boot, the door pockets and under the seats. Make sure the car can be reached, or tell us where it is if that is awkward, for example in a back garden or a shed. Have the keys ready. Whether the scrapyard offers you anything for the car is between you and them. We make sure the car gets there, for the price we agreed upfront.

Will you buy my scrap car?
Spoed Sleepdienst is a towing and transport service. We take the car to the scrapyard you choose. Whether you get anything for the car, and how much, is something you agree with that scrapyard.
Does the car still need to drive?
No. We load the car onto a flatbed or trailer even if it will not start, does not roll or is badly damaged. Do tell us what state it is in, so we know how best to load it.
Do I need to be there when the car is collected?
Not always. Agree where the keys will be and make sure the car can be reached. The scrapyard does need your details for the deregistration, so sort that out with them in advance.
When can I cancel my car insurance?
Only once the car has been deregistered and you have the proof of deregistration. Ask your insurer how to cancel the policy. As long as the car is registered in your name, you remain responsible for it.
